✅ Compatibility note: StarPower V2 is a 12V / 24V DC router-replacement power solution for selected Starlink systems. It is designed for users who want to power Starlink from a battery/DC system and use their own router instead of the original Starlink router.

12V / 24V Starlink power with your own router

StarPower V2 is built for Starlink installs where you want to run from 12V or 24V DC power and use your own router, firewall, mesh system or network equipment.

It is commonly used in caravans, RVs, boats, 4WDs, work vehicles, remote sites and commercial installs where a standard Starlink router setup is not the best fit.

Unlike StarPower V3, StarPower V2 is not designed to keep the original Starlink router in the system. It is for setups where the Starlink router is removed or bypassed and your own router is used instead.

Choose StarPower V2 if...

• ✅ You want to power Starlink from a 12V or 24V battery/DC system.
• ✅ You want to use your own router or network equipment.
• ✅ You do not want to run the original Starlink router.
• ✅ You are building a caravan, RV, boat, 4WD, remote-site or commercial network setup.
• ✅ You want a DC-to-DC setup instead of running through a 240V inverter.

Do not choose StarPower V2 if...

• ⚠️ You want to keep using the original Starlink Standard Gen 3 / V4 router. Choose StarPower V3 instead.
• ⚠️ You are on AC power and mainly need a router replacement. Choose StarPower V4 instead.

Gen 2 cable note

Starlink Gen 2 systems use the Starlink SPX-style cable. To use StarPower V2 with Gen 2, you need the correct SPX to RJ45 adapter or a professionally modified cable.

We recommend using the correct adapter rather than cutting and crimping the Starlink cable unless you have the correct tools and experience.

⚠️ Do not wire the cable based on random DIY diagrams or Reddit posts. Incorrect wiring can blow the internal fuse and may damage the cable or Starlink terminal.

Why use StarPower V2 instead of an inverter?

Many mobile and off-grid setups already have 12V or 24V battery power available. Using an inverter converts battery power to 240V AC, then the Starlink power supply converts it back again.

StarPower V2 is designed for a more direct DC power path, helping reduce wasted energy and simplify the install.

Router setup

StarPower V2 is designed to connect to your own router’s WAN/Internet port using a standard RJ45 patch lead.

You can use a suitable third-party router, firewall, LTE/Starlink failover router, mesh router or commercial network appliance depending on your install.

Network setup can vary by router brand. If you need help with a more complex install, Spacetek IT can assist.

StarPower V2 is available with connector options to suit different installs, including:

• 2.5mm DC socket plug
• AC to DC power supply bundle, where selected

Power and installation notes

• ✅ Designed for 12V / 24V DC input systems.
• ✅ Use appropriately sized DC wiring and fuse protection.
• ✅ Install in a ventilated, protected area away from moisture and direct heat.
• ✅ A standard RJ45 patch lead can be used from the data socket to your router.

Recommended wiring:

• Minimum: 4mm² wire with a 15A fused DC supply for short runs
• Recommended: 6mm² wire with a 30A DC supply for best performance and reduced voltage drop

⚠️ Voltage drop can cause Starlink dropouts or startup issues. Use short cable runs where possible and size the wiring correctly.
