The D-Link AQUILA PRO AI M30-2PK Wi‑Fi 6 Mesh System provides expanded wireless coverage for Starlink installations where the standard Starlink router signal is insufficient for larger homes, sheds, workshops, granny flats, or multi-room environments.

Why we like it? 

Its designed for simple deployment, the system allows customers to extend network coverage (without relying solely on Starlink mesh nodes) simply by plugging into your Starlink Router. The range of these two devices also far exceed that of the Starlink Router Mini mesh nodoes. (see below for larger explanation).

The easiest (but not the only) setup method is a direct RJ45/Ethernet connection from the Starlink router (spare RJ45 port) to the primary D-Link AQUILA PRO AI unit for maximum stability and performance. From there, each subsequent Aquila Mesh node can be wirelessly paired for whole of house WIFI extension. (One RJ45 cable is included). Additional can be purchased here. 

💡TIP : If you are using a Gen 2 Router, then you will need the Gen 2 Ethernet Adapter to use this mesh system. 

The dual-node configuration creates a unified Wi‑Fi network with automatic roaming between mesh points. Wi‑Fi 6 technology improves device handling, streaming stability, and coverage efficiency across multiple connected devices.

Note: As this is not a Starlink device, you will not be able to see the D-Link mesh system in your Starlink App, however the D-Link Aquila app can be used for additional performance monitoring (if required).

Alternative Wireless Setup

If Ethernet cabling is not practical, the mesh system can also operate using wireless backhaul between nodes. Wired Ethernet connections will generally provide the highest stability and performance.

Real-World Coverage Comparison vs Starlink Mesh

The Starlink Router Mini is designed as a compact mesh extender. Official and third-party sources place its coverage around 120–204 m² depending on wall density and placement.

The D-Link AQUILA PRO AI M30 uses larger antennas and a higher-powered AX3000 platform. D-Link states the 3-pack system can cover up to 7200 sq ft (~668 m²), with the 2-pack system commonly covering around 465 m² in real-world deployments
