What Does the Recessed Data Socket Do?

The recessed housing lets the connector sit partially inside the wall cavity, reducing snag risk and giving the outside of the vehicle a cleaner finish than a loose cable gland or surface-mounted coupler. It also keeps the connection point accessible for inspection, service or cable replacement.

Choose the Starlink Gen 3 (Only) variants for Starlink Standard (Gen 3 / V4) RJ45-style cable installs. This model is also commonly called Standard Kit, Standard 4 or V4.

Starlink Mini

Choose the Starlink Mini (Only) variants when you need a recessed DC power pass-through for a Mini installation. This is the right family for compact caravan, canopy and portable power-box layouts.

Universal RJ45

Choose Universal RJ45 for modified Gen 2, networking or other RJ45 pass-through use cases where the connector type matches your installation.

Backing Plate vs No Backing Plate

The backing plate option is recommended when the panel is thin, flexible, uneven or likely to benefit from more clamping area behind the wall. The no-backing-plate option is suitable where the wall or mounting surface is already rigid enough to support the socket cleanly.

Shape Selection

Round and square versions perform the same core job. Choose the shape that best suits the panel layout, available flat surface area and the look you want on the outside of the vehicle.

Installation Considerations

• Check the cut-out location carefully before drilling into a caravan, RV, canopy or vehicle body.
• Confirm there is enough clearance behind the panel for the recessed body and cable bend radius.
• Seal the installation correctly for the surface material and exposure conditions.
