Starlink Mini Caravan Retrofit - Modifying your van for Mini

Retrofit your existing Starlink Gen 2 or 3 infrastructure on your van, to support the Starlink Mini. 

This kit is designed for caravans and RVs that were previously fitted with Starlink Gen 2 or Gen 3 systems, whether installed using Spacetek components or other compatible hardware installed by Caravan manufacturers. If you are not certain of compatiblity with your vehicle, please contact us. 

The kit enables you to reuse the existing ethernet/data cable installed in your caravan, allowing the Starlink Mini to receive both power and data through the caravan’s RJ45 bulkhead socket.

This provides a clean retrofit solution without requiring new cable runs within the walls of the vehicle.

Kit Conents:

2 × Starlink Mini Power/Data Splitter-Combiners

1 × Spacetek DC-DC Voltage Regulator (plug type selectable)

2 × 1 m CAT5e RJ45 Patch Cables
(For internal caravan connections. One spare cable can be used for an additional device such as a Starlink Router Mini.)

💡 External Starlink Cable Required

You will need a Starlink Gen 3 RJ45 cable to run from the caravan’s external RJ45 bulkhead socket to the RJ45 splitter connected to the Starlink Mini.

Cable length will depend on your mounting position and cable routing strategy.

Additional Solution Options

 ✅  Starlink Router Mini (Optional)
Add a Starlink Router Mini to bypass the internal Wi-Fi router of the Starlink Mini and use a dedicated router inside your caravan. A vehicle-compatible 9 V power supply for the Starlink Router Mini is also available here 

✅  Wireless Relay Power Switch (Optional)
Add a wireless relay switch to remotely control the 12 V supply powering the Starlink Mini, allowing you to turn the system on or off without unplugging or accessing the DC-DC regulator directly.

Installation Overview

1. Connect one Starlink Mini RJ45 splitter to the Starlink Mini terminal at the mounting location. Ensure the waterproof gland and sealing enclosure are properly secured.
2. Connect the Starlink Gen 3 RJ45 cable (not included) to the splitter attached to the Starlink Mini.
3. Connect the other end of the Gen 3 cable to the external RJ45 bulkhead socket on the caravan.
4. Inside the caravan, connect the second RJ45 splitter to the caravan’s internal RJ45 data socket.
5. Connect the Spacetek DC-DC voltage regulator to the DC input port of the RJ45 splitter, then connect the regulator to the caravan’s 12 V power source using either the cigarette lighter plug or Anderson plug.Alternatively, the RJ45 splitter allows connection of the Starlink Mini AC power adaptor if the system is powered from the caravan’s 240 V supply.
6. Power on the caravan’s 12 V system and confirm the Starlink Mini powers up.
   The blue status light on the underside of the Starlink Mini should illuminate.
